The Unassuming Son

An Inherited Echoes story

Trevor has never considered himself brave. A quiet farmer's son burdened by a crippling stutter, he expects nothing more from life than hard work and solitude. But after offering a ride to a hunted girl named Lucille, he is swept into a hidden conflict that will test his courage, his heart, and ultimately change him forever.

The world

History never vanishes. It changes hands.

Kingdoms inherit unfinished wars. Children inherit powers they do not yet understand. Survivors carry names, promises, and losses that began long before them.

Inherited Echoes follows the people caught in those patterns—some trying to escape them, others determined to repeat them.

About the author

Patrick Leblanc

Patrick LeBlanc grew up reading fantasy novels and spent years creating adventures as a Game Master for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Those campaigns fostered a lasting appreciation for character-driven stories, difficult choices, and worlds that feel as though they existed long before the reader arrived.

Inherited Echoes is his first published fantasy series, exploring how grief, loyalty, and the past shape the lives of ordinary people caught in extraordinary events.
